Chest Pain, Rapid Heart Beat, Sweating. High Fasting Blood Sugar Value. Sign Of Diabetes?
I have been having some mild chest pain for a few weeks now. Then today while shopping I had a sudden onset of shaking, rapid heartbeat , sweating and feeling hot. I had this kind of episode about a year ago after drinking a lot of alcohol that lasted several hours. I recently had a fasting blood sugar test of 109. Could this be a sign of diabetes or heart disease?
Your fasting sugar is in the impaired range but not in diabetic range. We can confirm your diabetes status by doing a hba1c. If it is above 6.5 you are a diabetic. If it is 5.7 to 6.5 you are a prediabetic.
The symptoms you have point towards more of an alcohol withdrawal effect rather than diabetes or heart problem. However we would not ignore your chest pain and I would you get a full cardiac profile including tmt , echocardiography and ecg done .
