Hi,

If diabetes has been ruled out, no need to worry much. This can happen temporarily following some stress like a febrile illness, starvation etc. As it is resolving now, we can wait. Only if it persists, we need further evaluation to rule out other conditions like kidney filtration abnormalities.

In new onset nocturnal incontinence, it is important to look for any cause (like urine infection, pin worm infestation, emotional stress in child, constipation). If no such causes found and there is no day time urinary symptoms (urgency, frequency, incontinence) there is no cause of concern. Avoid giving caffeinated items (tea, coffee, chocolates) after 4 p.m, restrict water intake after 6 pm and avoid sugary items. Keeping a dry night diary will promote him to be dry.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
