Chest Pain While Breathing, Fatigue, Low Grade Fever And Night Sweats. Elevated CPK. Cardiac Catheterization Suggested

Husband was just released from hospital following tests for c/o chest pain with breathing, fatigue, low-grade fever and night sweats. Echo, stress test and CT show mild pleural effusion, "fluid" around heart and a "shadow". Also, the hemoglobin was 11, hematocrit 32, iron 25 and CPK elevated. He was discharged with recommendation of cardiac cath to investigate shadow and med to treat pericarditis. No mention of the low iron. Should we be concerned about bleeding somewhere?

At hemoglobin of 11, a possibility of significant occult bleed is low. What is his ferritin value. That is important to know the overall status of iron in body.
I request you to let him recover from this episode of pericarditis /pericardial effusion (fluid around heart) and then recheck his iron and ferritin levels. Only then proceed for further work-up after discussing with your physician.
