Hi... I m a 21 year old healthy female. I m 5 8 and weigh about 145... I ve gotten pain only on the left side of my chest since I was about 10... when I get this pain, which is like once a month or twice, I stop moving and breathing because it makes it more painful.... does anyone know if this is normal or what it is???!!!
This is my problem too. I'm 39 healthy and a football coach, ive had his problem since i was young 15 though going through fazes of the problem disappearing and rarity, ive just had an attack after about 18 months, doesn't last too long and shallow breathing and not moving helps
based on your history it is not exactly suggestive of a heart problem..it looks more like a problem with your chest wall and muscles..would be better if you could give bit more history:
-does the pain appear while working or anytime, is it associated with excessive sweating and generalised weakness, and is there any history of heart problems among your family members.
-does the pain increase on coughing or laughing out loud. does the pain appear on putting pressure over your chest. was there any history of injury to your chest when you were young.
-with the chest pain do u get fever or cough..
each of the set of questions mentioned above rule out a specific system..so kindly go through and we can come to a better conclusion.
