The past two weeks my chest has been feeling really tight and its hard for me to breath.. I feel like every breath is a struggle and I m breathing heavy.. I get really out of breath real quick no matter what I do.. I m only 29 years old its a little scary.. I feel like my lungs are being pushed up and squeezed tight.. I have no other symptoms
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
There could be a few possibilities for your breathing difficulty, like:
- Anxiety-related (this is likely considering your age, absence of any other respiratory or cardiac symptoms and absence of any medical risk factors)
- Bronchial asthma (this can also cause a struggle for breath, a sensation of tightness and often accompanied by a wheeze)
- Rarely, it can be an indicator of an underlying cardiac disease
It is difficult to pinpoint a diagnosis without a proper physical examination. So, I would suggest that you see a doctor for a detailed clinical examination (including a respiratory and cardiac examination), and if necessary, certain investigations (like a chest X-ray or ECG). Further treatment will depend on the diagnosis.
After reading your post, it seems that your symptoms are due to increased acidity and gas production.
You should follow some precautions like :-
1. Avoid spicy and oily foods.
2. Donot miss a meal.
3. Avoid emotional/mental stress.
4. Avoid cigarette/Alcohol
5. Avoid self medication like painkillers and steroids.
Also get yourself investigated for H.pyloi.
Although your symptoms are indicative of acidity and gas production, you should get yourself examined by a physician and get following investigations :-
1. ECG
2. Chest X-Ray (PA view)
Taking antacid like Omeprazole 20 mg along with Domperidone 10 mg will be helpful in relief from acidity and gas.
I hope this is helpful to youi.
Thanks.
