Chest X-ray Showing Mild Cardiomegaly. Shortness Of Breath, Pain While Breathing. Will The Heart Be Back To Normal?

Hi Doc good afternoon, I was just recently diagnosed of "MILD CARDIOMEGALY" after my chest x-ray, last week I complained of short breathing or I hardly breathe due to pain in my chest and it was difficult for me to move my body even when I slept because of pain, I undergone all the laboratory exams, ecg, urinalysis and all were normal even my blood pressure is normal, and I remembered this pain started last April 8 when I carry my heavy trolly bag but I was just ignoring those days because the pain would just come and go, and in this last week of April the pain didn't stop, that's why I went to see a doctor. My question is can this heart enlarge be back to normal? Is warm water good for me? What are the best drinks/liquid/juices should I take?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Diagnosing cardiomegaly by X-ray is not completely reliable / breathing, positioning, distance - all may alter the picture. If it is suspected, the next step is ECHOcardiogram...to confirm. You may not have heart enlargement !
Your pain too is not very descriptive or typical / You have not stated your age, gender, personal habits, family history or co-morbidities / You should go for TMT (Treadmill exercise ECG) to exclude Ischemia (reduced blood flow).
It looks like muscle pain / warm water is good; you can take any drink!
See a Cardiologist / get complete investigation...

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Akhilesh Dubey's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
After going through your history you seem to have developed musculoskeletal pain due to heavy weight lifting,as you're all other investigations are normal.
You have not mentioned that ECG was done or not presume this was normal?
Your X ray chest showed mild cardiomegaly, there is no cause like high blood pressure or Ischemic heart disease.
Please do not worry size of heart in x ray,may be due to position or respiratory movement.
Your heart may not be enlarged so we need to confirm it .
You should go for 2 D Echocardiography which gives correct size of heart and even ejection fraction which is measure of heart function.
Just take normal diet and adequate amount of water.
Take care.
Good Luck
