Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a 12 year old son who had chicken pox 4 weeks a go, and spiked a fever a week later to 104. He was diagnosed with elevated liver enzymes caused from the chicken pox. He had additional blood work two weeks a go and liver enzymes still elevated. He became lethargic for a minute today and has spiked a fever again. What is going on with him?
You need to get him investigated. CBC, liver function tests, renal function tests and a abdominal ultrasoud is essential for the diagnosis of the liver problem. If he has not been immunized against HBV, then a additional test for viral markers is essentilal. In the mean time he should take complete bed rest at home.
