Child. Constant Headache, Cold To Touch, Warm Hands, Pale, Sudden Sleep. Concerning?

My two sons have complained of headaches all day and are feeling unwell. They are 7 and 5. My five year old was crying and very upset, then all of a sudden fell asleep. His high temp has fallen to 95.5 and he is so pale and cold to the touch on his head. Hands are warm. Just checked the seven yr old and he is the same. Cold and pale. What should we do? They are with us now, each parent with child in a bed to warm them and monitor for the night. Are we doing enough or should they be seen?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms can be attributed to viral fever.
Symptomatic relief can be obtained with analgesic-antipyretic like Paracetamol.
If fever persists for more than 2 days, then kindly consult a Pediatrician for proper clinical examination.
Investigations like complete blood count, peripheral smear for malaria & dengue check will be needed.
Till then, maintain adequate hydration & proper nutrition status.

Wishing your sons a good health.
Take care.
