Child. Has Speech Apraxia, Cerebral Palsy. Doing Well In OT, PT And Speech. Pain Intolerance. Suggest
my grandson is 5 1/2 yrs old and has speech apraxia and cerebral palsy... he had lost oxygen when he was born I took him bowling yesterday and a bowling ball fell on his toes ....it really bothered him but he didn't cry....my daughter says he bumped his head and didn't cry.........I am very concerned...he also isn't potty trained he is in kindergarten..special needs...he isn't in a wheel chair and seems like a normal child....he goes to OT PT and speech a few times a week after school and is doing very well but this issue with pain intolerance upsets me
It seems he is having CONGENITAL INSENSITIVENESS TO PAIN.You have not mentioned about any thing about absence of sweating, hyperpyrexia etc.which are present in Congenital Ectodermal Dysplasia.Try to prevent trauma,no other treatment,if it is that.Consult Pediatric Neurologist for further advice.
