Child. Lethargic, Warm And Bit Floppy. History Of Spending All Day Out Of Home. On Calpol. Concerning?

My 2 yr old grandson has just been in the garden all day and probably hasn't had a hat on to protect himself from the heat . He's been with his father all day so I don't know , he is now lethargic , v warm and just a bit floppy and not himself really . Do u think I should get him checked out or just keep an eye on him . He's had some calpol and I don't think it's made a difference to his temp .

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi ! It looks like your grandson is having heat exhaustion.Heat exhaustion can occur when the temperature inside the body rises to anything between the normal 37°C (98.6°F) up to 40°C (104°F). At this temperature, the levels of water and salt in the body begin to fall, which can cause a person to feel sick, feel faint and sweat heavily.
You should take him quickly to a cool place, give water to drink and have his excess clothing removed, he should begin to feel better within half an hour and have no long-term complications.Without treatment, he could develop heatstroke so act fast & take care.
