Child. Recurring Back Pain, Freezing Mid Spine, Fatigue. Active And Healthy Lifestyle. Blood Work Ruled Out Infections. Virus?

Hi, my 12.5 year old son has presented, again today, with complaints of back pain, mid spine, freezing (has no fever or low grade), very tired, and no energy. He complained about this about 5 weeks ago and to the doctor we went and blood work ruled out mono and any other infectious processes. He says this time his muscles aren t tired , he just has no energy. GI was a little queasy after lunch, but it resolved. He drinks a lot of milk and not as much water as he has in the past. He is a very active child with basketball and football. I am unsure what to think of this combination of symptoms. His doctor said last time that this was a virus. thoughts?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The symptoms that you have described in a child can happen due to a viral infection. Usually these are self limiting and improvement is seen in 3-5 weeks.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
