Child. Recurring Swelling And Fungus In Ear. Has Otisis Exteria And Otisis In Middle Ear. History Of Tympanometry For Ear Infection. Remedy?
my 4yr daughter have otisis exteria n otisis in middle ear also. From last 2 months she has been suffering with swollen and fungus in her ear. with antiiotics help it goes ut after a week it comers back. tympanometry also performed twice indicating infection behind middle ear. how it can be completely cured as after every week its coming back.
I have gone through your query regarding recurrent fungal infection in ear of your 4 years old daughter. As you said your daughter is having otitis media with otitis externa.
Here I would like to tell you that your daughter is having otitis media which is making ear canal more vulnerable for recurrent infection like fungal otitis externa.
At present you are advice to manage it as under-
(1) keep ear canal clean & dry.
(2) Put ear drop containing antibiotic, antifungal & steroids.
(3) Oral Anti inflammatory.
By above treatment your otitis externa may be managed but to avoid recurence it becomes necessary to treat otitis media. Therefore you may consult ENT doctor for tharough examination and relevent investigations for plan for treatment may be surgical intervention.
Regards.
