Child. Row Of Bruise Like Discoloration On Spine. No Pain. Any Ideas?
Hi, my son (almost 7) has what looks like a row of bruises (discoloration) on his spine. He has had this for a long time. I used to think it was from his car seat, but he hasn't been in that one for quite some time. I showed his pediatrician some time ago and she said as long as it doesn't bother him, not to worry, but the fact that it isn't going away troubles me. What causes this?
The reason for spontaneous discoloration could be due to fragile capillaries ,blood issues like abnormal platelet function or quantity.
However it would be difficult to comment exactly on the bruising without having seen it closely.I would suggest that you can relax at present but if it increase in size and number then get him re examined by his doctor.
