Child. Symptoms Of Gastro Oesophageal Reflux, Bloating, Cough With Wheezing After Eating, No Weight Gain, Mood Swings. Advice
Hi my daughter has symptoms which are similar to childhood gastro-oesophageal reflux. She is 3 yrs old.she dint have this previously but started just a couple of months back.Previously she was a good eater. But now when we try to give her same amount, her stomach bloats and she starts coughing with whizzing sound. So we have started giving her less food which temporarily solves the problem. However it appears that she is not happy with the amount and craves for more. Now her weight is around 13 kgs and it appears that she is not gaining much.We are very worried.Want to know if there is anything to worry about. Also want to know how and by approx when would this problem be resolved.Previously she was very cheerful now has started being silent and gets irritated. Thanks - Abhishek
here as we can see your daughter might be hsving gastro esophageal reflux.theere are lot of associations to it . like for egs.due to severe belchings.there may be lack of sleep.this can affect childs school performance and induces iritabiklity in the child. you need to know about different ways you can treat gerd if it is.for that you need to take your daughter to a gastroenterologist who can perform a couple of tests to confirm wheher it is gerd or not. antacids can help.but again a prescribed dose after the examination would be a better choice. you can try small but frequent feeds so the weight do niot bear the grunt. hope this helps.
