Child Complaining Of Heart Hurting, Beating Hard And Fast, Has Low Blood Volume, Drink Gatorate. Worried
My son Randol is 8 and sometimes out of nowere he complains of his heart hurting. When I listen to it it sounds like its beating really hard and fast. It does sou d pretty loud most of the time though. Hes been to a cardiologist and they said everything looked fine but he had low blood volume and to drink gatorade. Well that was 3 yrs ago and we give him a gatorade everyday but he still has the episodes. Should I be worried?
Hi, Thank you for asking question on health care magic. Once cardiologist has seen and said everything is fine, you need not worry. Appreciation of his own heart beat is known as palpitation. Physiologically it occurs after exercise. Now that 3 years elapsed and again the episodes are repeated, better rule out arrhythmia by doing a ECG Nothing to worry if ECG is normal, other wise consult cardiologist again, Hope this answer will serve your purpose Please feel free to ask any more queries if required Take care Dr.M.V.Subrahmanyam MD;DCH Associate professor of pediatrics
