Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i woke up to a loud heart beat two weeks ago. also some nights while falling asleep, i feel like my heart stops for like 3 seconds and sometimes beats slow too. i am 44years old. 100 pounds. eat healthy and exercise 3 times a week. i also have been feeling few heart murmurs . i can t tell if it is a murmur or acid reflux as well.
There could be an irregular heartbeat or arrhythmia. This could be due to many possible causes. Hypertension ca also be associated with arrhythmias.
Acid reflux will cause burning central chest pain, nausea, vomiting, which gets relieved on drinking cold milk and consuming antacids.
Avoid heavy meals at night. Avoid high protein diet at night. Drink 1-2 litres of water daily.
Normal heartbeat is between 60-100 per minute. It would be best to get examined by a Doctor for blood pressure, heart rate, get an EKG done as well. This will be able to point out an Arrhythmia.
Wishing good health.
