Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Banocide ( diethylcarbamazine) is a most potent drug for "TROPICAL EOSINOPHILIA" till date in my opinion. As the dose of this drug is 1 mg/ kg body weight in three divided dosage . Usually prescribed in three divided dosage ,but treating physician may use according to his experience. Usually I have not noted any side effects , but precaution should be taken in renal disorder cases. Few cases may develops cough, itch, rashes , dizziness ,so in your son cases few symptoms present , so consult your treating doctor. However sometimes extensive lysis of microfilariae may cause hypotension, but your son is using from last 7 days so no danger. Good luck. Dr. HET
