Thanks for placing your query with HCM,
Autism is a disorder that affects the development of the brain in areas of social interaction and communication and is marked by severe difficulties in communicating and forming relationships with people & in developing language. It is not a mental illness and neither is not caused by bad
parenting.
Autism is described as a ‘spectrum’ disorder. This means that it can present in a wide variety of combinations and can range from mild to severe.
Autism is a complex lifelong disorder & with an early diagnosis, and an intervention (training and teaching) that is tailored to the special needs of each autistic kid we can help him to progress towards her maximum potential.
Many people with autism can lead a fairly independent life through early intervention and with support from their family, friends and professionals.
No cure exists for autism, and there is no one-size-fits-all treatment. There is a range of home-based and school-based treatments and interventions .
The goal of treatment is to maximize the child's ability to function by reducing autism symptoms and supporting development and learning. Your doctor can help identify resources in your area. Treatment options may include:
• Behavior and communication therapies. .
• Educational therapies. Children with autism often respond well to highly structured education programs. .
• Family therapies. Parents and family members can learn how to play and interact with their children in ways that promote social interaction skills, manage problem behaviors, and teach daily living skills and communication.
Your son appears to have
ADHD (attention deficit
hyperactivity disorder) in addition to autism.
Kindly see a developmental
pediatrician & child
psychologist also so that a treatment plan can be made for him.
As far as I am aware , unfortunately there is no evidence that any specific diet or alternative therapy is of any proven value in autism.
Hope you find the information useful.
Best regards.
