Child Died Under Mysterious Circumstances. Seen A Lot Of Bruises, No Cause Of Death. Can A Body Bruise After Death?
My daughter recently died in a hospital when we we seen her body in the resting home after a full autopsy had been done and the medical examiner said there was no trauma to the body, she had bruises on her nose her right side of her face and lots of bruises down the right side of her arms. she was 22 and there was no cause of death.my question is can a body bruise after death
hi there, sorry for your loss. As you have noticed the bruise kind of a thing ,actually it is livor mortis or post mortem levidity which is caused due to accumulation of blood in the capillaries and veins due to gravity and tend to accumulate in the most dependent part of the body or on that part on which the body is resting.Your daughter's body may hve been kept in a prone position due to which the redness is seen on the face, nose and the arms. It is not possible to cause a bruise post mortem or after death.Usually it is purple in colour and there will be no sign of inflammtion surrounding the discoloration. Hope this is informative enough.Take care.
