Hello my son is four years old very active and drinks a lot of milk every day about quarter of a gallon between 7am to 9pm he is 29.2 lbs so he is a good weight , and I was just curious to know if him drinking so much milk could give him health problems? I know its a weird question but some people have told me this before just wanna know if its true.

Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Consumption of too much of milk is not good for health.

Milk should be restricted to 500 ml per day.

More than this limit will lead to deficiency of other nutrients due to less intake of other solid food as the satiety will occur with the consumption of the excess milk leading to less intake of solid food.

And excess intake of the milk will lead to iron deficiency anemia as it is the poor source of iron, the absorption of iron is less, and due to allergy and microscopic hematuria.

So it is advised to restrict the daily intake of milk to 500 ml.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
