Child Got Loose Motion After Taking The Medicine For Cold. Appropriate Medication?
hii. my baby is 1 year 8 months old. She was having cough and cold for which we gave her prescribed medicines and warm clarified butter.. she seems to have recovered from cough and cold but started having loose motions (watery , no smell).. She already had 6-7 times motions today.. So for that we gave her diof-ds. Kindly suggest appropriate medication and food..
Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic,
Your child is having diarrhea may be of a viral origin.
You can give sips of oral rehydrating solutions in replacement of losses of water and electrolytes in stools.
Probiotic like lactobacillus or sacharomyces sachets can be added orally once or twice daily to increase gut protectant microflora.
Zinc supplementation is helpful for 2 weeks in prescribed dosage.
Consult your Pediatrician for medical advise and the assessment.
Hope i have answered your query.
Hi
Thanks for your query
Diarrhea could be due to medication or viral in nature,
I suggest you to mantain proper hydration, give oral rehydration solution sip by sip after each loose stool, coconut water, lemon water, curd, banana, boiled potato.
Also give lactobacillus sachet for 2 to 3 days and zinc for 14 days.
In case symptoms persist get her examined by pediatrician.
Wishing your child good health
God bless.
