Child Had Head Injury, Cut On Arm. No Pain Or Bumps. Reason For Red Dots And Lines On Back Of Head?
My 3 year old son banged the back of his head when getting to the bottom on the slide at a carnival today. It turned sideways toward the end and seemed to land more on his arm but the back right side hit. He cried mostly because he had a small cut on his arm. Now 5 hours later I noticed red dots and lines on the back of his head. He has no symptoms that are listed as head injury symptoms. He didn't complain of pain. There isn't a bump. Why did these red dots and lines appear?
It is quite possible that the line and the red dots are the marks where some hard thing has grazed and cause superficial harm to the skin. I suggest that you can wait and watch. In case they increase then you should worry.
In case your son vomits or becomes drowsy or irritable then you need to worry for his head injury.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
