Child Had Sweating Profusely, Collapsed. Recovered After Sometime. What Could Have Been This?
Greetings, am I permitted to ask a question about something I experienced 42 years ago, whilst at school, where an ambulance took me to hospital but I recovered a a couple of hours? I collapsed in the toilet. Was sweating profusely and my sight was tinged totally red, like wearing red sunglasses. I managed to walk, shaking and clothes so wet through with sweat, to the School office, where I collapsed and shaking so much, that they thought I was having epileptic fit. Parents were called from work but I recovered under observation,no explanation offered. Any ideas ??

hi
Thanks your your query.
Though it is difficult to prove ,your description of event closely matches to what is called vasovagal syncopal attack or micturition syncope
Micturition (or post-micturition) syncope is fainting during or, more commonly, immediately after urination due to a severe drop in blood pressure.
The exact cause of micturition syncope isn't fully understood. But it may be related to opening (vasodilation) of the blood vessels that occurs when getting up and standing at the toilet or that occurs at the rapid emptying of a full bladder. This is thought to result in a sudden drop in blood pressure.
The additional factors contributing are fatigue, hunger, dehydration & fever etc.
Hope I satisfied your query.
Best regards.
