Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Your son is having chronic constipation. It is mostly related to diet.but hypothyroidism, fissures, hircshprung's disease needs to be ruled out.
Laxatives should not not be used for longer duration.
I suggest you to give him plenty of fluids.salads.fruit.green leafy vegetables.
Do sitz bath (make him sit in lukewarm water fo 5 to 10 minutes 3 to 4 times a day.

If symptoms persist get him evaluated by pediatrician.
Wishing your son good health.
God bless.

Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic,
Your child seems to have functional constipation.
Medication like lactulose will help to make the stool soft so for easy passage and they will give temporary relief.
For regular passage of stool is important as retained stool will be harder and cause pain, bleeding and fissures while passing stool.
Dietary fiber is to be added to his regula food as it makes stools bulky, soft by retaining water for easy passage. It is present in vegetables, green leafy vegetables, fruits.
Make him to sit in the toilet every day for atleast 5 to 10 minutes and give plenty of water.
Hope I have answered your query.
