Hi
Repeated vomiting in a child needs to be evaluated.
The number of episodes per day/ his present weight/ presence or absence of lung signs- all these things should be looked into in any case of reflux.
If its just a reflux, without affecting his growth- medications can be tried. Usually medications like
Domperidone with
Lansoprazole will be given for a considerable amount of time. If it helps, he will be managed medically.
If he does not respond to medications/ his growth is hampered- then he must be evaluated in detail. First GERD (
Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease) has to be proven by milk scan or barium study and then
surgical treatment will be advised.
So he needs to be seen and evaluated by a
Pediatrician first.
Regarding his diet- all bland food items can be given.
After food/ milk- do not make him lie down immediately. Let him be active at-least for 30 to 45 min. When he sleeps, try to raise the head end of the cot (A pillow alone will not work).
Please do have an appointment with a Pediatrician.
Hope my answer helps you.
Best wishes.
