Child Has Bumps In Neck, Blood Test Done, Advised Further Investigations. What Apart From Cancer Could It Be?

Waiting for my gp to call me back as they have the results back on a blood test my 4 yr old had for lumps in his neck . All the receptionist could tell me is that the notes said book an appointment to discuss results & further investigations. I m worried sick while I wait for them to call that it s cancer . What else could it be ?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Small swellings in the neck are usually lymph nodes. Lymph nodes can be enlarged for many reasons-not only cancer. Usually i is due to infections. Sometimes tuberculosis can also cause enlarged lymph nodes and is treatable. Hope for the best. May god bless your child.
