Child Has Congenital Heart Problem. Umbrella Method Of Closure Suggested. Will Good Diet Help Improve Weight For Surgery?
Hi Sir, My 16months old baby is having OS ASD( Congenital heart problem) and the hole is of large sized where it can be closed by itself without repair.Doc suggested for a umbrella method closure(without opening the heart) but it is suggestible only after having a good weight.And she is only 8.12kgs as of now.Her birth weight was 2.2kgs. What is the good diet to improve her weight so that it helps for quick treatment of her heart problem? And can we give her buffalo milk as a substitute of packet milk(though she doesn t take gud quantity),as i thought it would impove her weight.

hello, there is no issue giving buffalo milk in place of dairy milk. to make your child gain weight you should give her energy dense food. to do this you can mix butter or ghee in her food and try giving her semisolid food in place of any liquid diet if she is taking. other than this no special diet other than normal staple diet is needed, if she is fed properly at least 6 times a day including snacks. thanks
