Child Has Constipation, Gastric Upset When Given Formula Milk. Given Glycerin Suppositories
hello doctor.my baby is 4 wees old.she is having breastfeeding as well as lactogen 1 as my milk is insufficient.she has constipation.every alternative 3 days i have use glycerin suppositories.what should i do?1st i try to breastfeed her just after that i give her formula milk.is it making her gastric upset.what is the routine of feeding both breast milk & formula milk.plz advice me.
Hi, Thank you for asking question on health care magic. Breast fed babies have golden yellow colored liquid stools. Formula fed babies will pass white stools and some what constipated Hence you give breast feeds as far as possible For gastric upset and crying you may give colicaid drops 3-4 times daily Dont encourage use of glycerene supposotories routinely If she passes 4 stools /day is sufficient, even if they do not pass stools for 2-3 days it is normal if the baby is otherwise normal.
