Child Has Cough, Chest Tightness. Taken Antibiotics. Weight Loss, Vomiting, Overheating. Worried

Hi. My daughter has felt unwell after she had an un diagnosed virus and was off sick from school for 4 weeks. She is 15. She plays squash at a regional and national standard.
Her immune system is poor and she has had repeated bouts of tonsillitis.
About 8 weeks ago she developed a cough and complained of a tight chest. We took her to the GP and she said it was an upper respiratory infection. She had a slight temp. She thought it was viral but gave her a weeks course of antibiotics.
She finished these three weeks ago and is still suffering. She feels cold sometimes and her hands and feet are cold.
She has sometimes been able to play squash but is a bit fatigued. She becomes extremely hot and seems to be unable to control her body temperature. Each time she finishes exercising and she vomits.
Her appetite went and she lost some weight but is eating better now. She says she feels ok, but sometimes says that she feels ill. She isn't able to explain how she feels ill, simply" I don't feel right."
She is very fit normally, but has been vomiting after exercise for the past 8 weeks.
She is taking her GCSE's at the moment so has a lot going on.
I'm just a bit concerned re the over heating - cough - cold and vomiting.
She plays everything down but sometimes looks a bit like a zombie.
Thanks

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

I can understand your concern. Have any investigations been done? What is her haemoglobin? What are the blood counts? Has a culture of the throat been done? Has an urine examination been done?

If this problem has been persisting for 8 weeks then it needs to be evaluated afresh. I suggest you discuss with the doctor, get the investigations repeated if done a while back and keep a temperature record. It will be better if your daughter cuts down on her exercise till the work up is done.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter an early recovery.
