Child Has Dry Feet, Strips Out, Diagnosed With Gluten Intolerance. Is It Eczema?
An 8 year old girl has dry feet that shed like thin strips of paper and has the appearance of large thin scales. If left unchecked the sometimes develop lesions. The mom was under the impression it was eczema but it only appears on the feet. She does have a bit of eczema (small red rash that is limited to behind and on her knees. She has been diagnosed with gluten intolerance and has adjusted her diet accordingly. She wears only cotton socks and leather shoes.Do you have any idea what this is? She is at an age where this is affecting her mentals. Any suggestions?

Hello, Thanks for the query, Gluten intolerance is a genetically determined condition. It is associated with skin rash. It is not an eczema. She needs to take gluten free diet.
