Child Has Dysentery, Fever. Prescribed Zanocin Liquid, Bifilac. Not Taking Any Food. Is It Due To The Side Effect Of The Medicine?

my son is 1 year and 10 months old. he got dysentry and fever . Doctor Prescribed Zanocin Liquid 100mg/ 5ml daily thrice for 5 days, bifilac syrup daily twice for 6 days, metrogyl suspension daily twice for 6 days. ibugusic plus daily thrice for 6 days. he is not taking any liquid / solid foods now? Any side affect in that. is it overdose for him? They suggest me to give for 5 days can i give for 2 days is it enough?

Hello,
YOu are suppose to complete the prescribed course since giving incomplete treatment may produce resistant strains of organisms affecting your child. Try encouraging him and giving him fluids and diet orally but if it fails and his condition gets worse i.e he develops high grdae fever despite of medication, he develops seizures, he becomes lethargic, take him to the nearby by hospital.
