fever and loose motion after lunch outside giving picture of acute gastroentrities.

1. now stool frequency is two.day ?
2. is it watery ?
3 . is it smelly also ?
4 . is there blood in stool because when there is blood in stool it is called dysentry .
first no need to worry you should complete your treatment of 7 days with appropriate antibiotics .

the most important thing is to maintain the hydration level
give ors daily . light diet and rest is advisable

hi, it is a common problem.
Dysentery is a specific word used for blood in stools. I believe you probably mean loose motions.
The most common cause of fever and loose motions are viral fevers.
The invasive infections which need to be treated with specific antimicrobials have one of the following characters blood ,pus, fowl smell, associated with stool or colicky pain before passing motions.
All such children need to be evaluated by examination of fresh stool by pathologist for evidence of pus cells, blood cells, parasite or protozoa( ameba giardia etc).green color signify hurried motility of intestine and is not an indication of antibiotics.
the main stay of therapy is maintenance of hydration by plenty of fluids containing salts and sugars like ORS,buttermilk, kaanji, kairi pani, etc
zinc 20 mg per day reduces fluid loss.
paracetamol as required in dose of 10 to 15 mg /kg/dose for fever.
diet containing banana and curd is very helpful along with easy to digest food like hard cooke khichri etc.

Hope you find it useful

Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
Dysentery needs antibiotic course for 5 to 7 days and it will take time to respond.
In mean time you try to maintain her hydration by giving oral rehydration solutions, oral probiotics, paracetamol for fever, and continue the antibiotic as prescribed by your doctor.
Stool for culture and sensitivity will give clue to the cause and it will help to choose the antibiotic.
Be in follow up with the doctor till she gets cured completely.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
