Child Has Ear Infection, Fever And Congested Throat. Is It Fine To Give Cepodem And Aziwok?

My son 5yr9mon has had cepodem for 15 days to treat ear infection, till 9th May. He has been getting them ever since he was 4 months old. Now he has congested throat and given Aziwok 200 7.5 ml once a day. For the last 48 hrs his fever is coming back every 4 hrs even when alternating b/w crocin and meftal p. Fever is high grade 103.2 axillary. His paed said to start cepodem alongside aziwok. Is it safe?

Hello:
It seems that your child is having a longstanding history of ear infections. Some times this results in chronic middle ear effusions (fluid in the middle ear), and when this condition persist for a long time, it is difficult to control the repeated ear infections. I don't think that adding more antibiotics is going to solve the problem in the long run. He needs to be evaluated by an ENT doctor, have his hearing checked and possibly look into ventilation tubes inserted.
Did he get his complete Hib and prevnar immunizations series?
