My 12 month old doughter has high fever 102 and cold and cough also and at that time doctor prescribe me the combiflam for fever , and again after 8 days means today she has fever 102 ,now doctor prescribe me Meftal P. and suggested me for the urine test also. Before the fever her sole ,head and hand is very hot. Please suggest.
Hello.
Thanks for the query.
To keep the fever down give paracetamol in the correct dose every four to six hours, and meftal p as suggested by your doctor if the fever does not decrease. Do sponging with like warm water to keep the fever down. Child may need antibiotic, depending on urine test result or if there is any other problem like throat or chest infection.
If you notice, eyeballs going up, fits , or if child is not feeding or any abnormal symptom, please take her to hospital at once. Give lots of fluids, at least frequent small sips, to drink due to the high fever. Always, stay by the child till recovery.
Hope your child recovers soon.
Bye.
