Child Has Itchy Rashes On Limbs And Face. Prescribed Antibiotic. Recommendations?
My daughter and her family are visiting family in Egypt ....her son who is 17 months has a rash that has appeared in the last day since they returned from the beach area. from what she has told me the rash looks like a wart-type spot that itches because he scratches them till they seep and bleed. when he falls asleep and wakes up there are more on the skin. it is only on the limbs and face ....they are not on the chest, back or genital area. since they are not in the states he is not able to be seen by his doctor. the clinic in the nearest town has prescribed an antibiotic and a wash ...hoping someone might have an idea what this could be. thank you for any help

this looks like an allergic reaction
in addition to antibiotic give an antihistamine preparation like cetrizine 5mg at bed time.
that will give him good sleep as well as relif from allergy
if no benefit consult a dermatologist
