Child Has Lump On Forehead. No Head Injury. Not Hot To Touch, No Pain Or Redness. Need For ER?
My 12 year old son just came to me and showed me a large lump on his forehead a little above his eyes. We have been home together all night and he hasn t been hit in the head. Its about 1 1/2 round and alomst 1/2 raised. It is not hot to the touch, its not red and he said it doesn t hurt. This large lump wasn t there an hour ago when he went in his room to do homework. Should I take him to ER?

Sudden onset of swelling over forehead in this age is most probably because of injury only. It will be haematoma because of collection of blood. Since you have mentioned that it was not there an hour ago and it is now there it is probably because of injury only. Ask him regarding this and you should take him to doctor for examination and treatment.
