Child Has Pimples On Face, Fever, Itching. Need For Worry?
I have a 10 year old daughter who started geting a red and a few white head pimple like rash on face around her noise upper lip around the noise and around the eyes. The rash shows up light on her eye lids. This rash showed up a week before she started running a temp of 100f to 101f but the rash was light colored. The fever lasted 3-4 days, no more fever but the this rash looks more red now. The rash don t seem to bother her and it is not spearding at all, but she says it gets itchy when she gets or feels hot. She is doing great and she did great while sick ate and drank fine was up playing even. I don t know if this rash has anything to do with her fever or not. Is this something that I should be worried about and run her into her Dr.?
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
The rash could be due to Acne vulgaris which children get during the start of their adolescent periods due to hormonal effects on the skin.
Acne will have itching.
It is unlikely due to a viral fever as the pimple like rash was there before the onset of the fever.
At present as there is no fever nothing to worry.
Tell her to wash her face frequently with fresh water and tell her to avoid pricking or scratching the pimples.
Trim her nails regularly.
If the pimples persisting or increasing in size with pus consult your Pediatrician or dermatologist for further management.
Hope I have answered your query.
