Child Has Red And Blotchy Face When Eating. Redness Below Eye, Hot To Touch
my 5 year old was eating dinner and her face started to turn red and blochy and under her eye was really red and hot to touch and then noticed she had red blotches all over her in various places and they were hot to the touch. She said she felt fine. They have disappeared and then they came back again mostly on face. They are not raised just look like sporatic sun burn spots in different shapes and sizes
Hi
It seems that your child had an allergic episode / hives due to some allergen.
It could be due to some food which she never took before. If you can identify if, please don't put it in your child's diet.
If the symptoms are limited to redness, no more treatment is necessary. Antihistamine medicine (cetirizine, levocetirizine, chlorpheniramine ) can be given to decrease symptoms. However, if the child becomes drowsy, difficult respiration, feels something in throat - go to emergency medical care immediately.
Please visit your pediatrician for confirmatory diagnosis and treatment if the problem persists.
