Child Has Red Bumps On Lumbar Spine, Itchy. History Of Eczema And Molluscum Contagiosum. Any Information?

Hi! I have a question/concern in regaurds to my 5-year-old daughter. She has recently (past couple of days) developed a rash-like red bumps along the lumbar part of her spine and she claims that they are itchy. I am concerned about there location and if this indicates a big issue at hand . She does have a history of eczema and moluscum (sp?). Any information is greatly appreciated! ~Diana H.

Hi Diana,
I think there is no need to worry or panic. Ask you child whether she was bit by some bug or got scratched by something dirty. Clean the area with some antiseptic and apply some emollient /calamine lotion. unfortunately without seeing the lesion prescribing some medications would be wrong. For itching you can give some oral antiallergic syrup. If the lesions increase or worsen consult a dermatologist.Hope she has a speedy recovery, have a nice day,bye
