Hello. My daughter is 4 years old, and has been getting red itchy rashes in the folds of her skin. She is slightly overweight, and I am not sure if her weight could play a factor in this. The rash started behind the backs of her knees, the tops of her thighs, and under her arms. When treated with Aveeno anti itch, it goes away, but comes back within a couple weeks. When they come back, it's always right after I get her out of the bath. Recently, a rash has formed in the crease at the back of her neck. Her pediatrician says its ezcema, but I do not believe this is accurate. We have been battling this issue for over 3 months now.
Recently, the sides of my thighs have been itching. I thought it may have been the same itchy rash as my daughter, but it is very hard to tell (I have darker African American skin and my daughter has a much lighter skin tone since she's bi-racial) Because of this, my rash looks more purple as hers are bright red. However, mine appear more like raised skin. Hers is more of a cluster of tiny bumps. The itch is very mild for her and myself. It is not at all intense, she doesn't bother hers, and I hardly ever feel the need to scratch mine. When I do scratch, the area becomes bruised, and now I have a small knot under one of the bruises. More bruises/ blood spots are surfacing on my thighs, and I am very concerned. I am a college student and just enrolled in medical coverage at my place of employment, but my benefits don't kick in until June. I don't have too much longer to wait to schedule an appointment for myself, but if there is any insight I can get from any reliable source, it would be much appreciated!
