Hi there,
Noted your query.
Its good that you are not using diapers for your baby. However, the area around the anus may remain moist after washing as a baby of this age passes frequent stool and this leads to
rash or inflammation. Do not apply lotions
There is a possibility of mild yeast infection due to this.Apply an antifungal ointment in the area after drying such as '
candid b', till the rash completely heals. Then the following steps can be taken to prevent further rash.
1.After every stool, the anal area must be washed with water well and dried by patting and not rubbing.
2. A barrier cream or coconut oil can be rubbed liberally around the genital areas after every urine or stool to prevent contact of skin with urine or stool.
3. the clothes used instead of diapers, should be washed in hot water and dried in the sun.
4. Wash your baby after urination from front to back to prevent UTI.( as it is common in girl babies)
Hope your baby gets well soon. Happy parenting
