Child Has Sore Throat, Cough, Enlarged Nodes On Neck, Nose Congestion. Mono?

My daughter is sick with a small sore throat , small cough , some enlarge nodes in her neck , but mainly a lot of nose congestion. A classmate was recently diagnosed with mono, but my daughter did not hang out with him. From reading on mono it sounds like it does not usually have a stuffy nose, so I m guessing she just has a cold. Is that right that mono typically does not have a lot of nasal congestion?

Dear linda beck, You mensioned your daughter got stuffy nose, caugh, sore throat and some neckgland enlargement what about fever? Has she got fever as well? By mensioning Mono I presume you

meant Infectious Mononeocleosis or Glandular fever. Glandular fever presents with sore throat,

fever, swelling of lymphglands not only of neck but of armpit(Axillary) groin(Inguinal) including

lymph glands of arms(Apitrochlier)also gets enlargement of spleen.(Speenomegally) Person gets extreamely exhausted.

The diagnosis mainly done by blood test for pausity of monocytes and presence of Auatralian antibodies. EB Virus is responsible.
