Child Having Fever, Tongue Pain, Difficulty In Eating And Drinking, Suspicion Of Tonsillitis As Well As Mouth Ulcer. Which Medicine Is Advisable?
My Daughter 3 years old is running fever for last 3 days, and is complaining about pain in tongue , have consulted 2 doctors and both of them have diffrent views, the first doctor said that she is having Mouth ulcer , While the second one is saying its tonsills and the treatment is no diffrent, an antibiotic , with multivitamins and antipirates. The problem is she cannot eat or drink anything, kindly suggest

It can be really hard to see your daughter not eat or drink anything. Since she is complaining about pain in tongue, probably she is having mouth ulcers. Don't worry, its a short term problem. Usually they recover in few days. Till then continue treatment advised by doctor. Liquid diet like milk, bland diet like bread, bisciuts dipped in milk can be tried. Rinsing mouth with iced water before food makes eating possible. Mouth paints that contain anaesthetics (eg Zytee mouth paint) are available over the counter in medical shops.
Keep her feeding small amounts as suggested above and she will be fine in few days. Take care.

It probably seems to be oral ulcer.
It is very painful and troublesome for a kid.
But the good news is that it is easy to treat.
Continue with the antibiotic, antipyretic and multivitamin already prescribed.
Give her an anaesthetic antacid preparation before meals, it will facilitate swallowing.
And give her liquid diet; go for foods of her choice.
Cold foods will also relieve her pain.
Give her small amounts to eat at short intervals rather than heavy foods.
If you can locate the ulcer, apply an ointment like Metrogyl DG gel; it will facilitate healing.
Wish a speedy recovery.
