Child Having Left Abdominal Pain, Feels Relief By Keeping Knees Bent. What Could Be The Reason?

My 6yr old son started having abdominal pains on his left side about 1hr ago, they come and go, he s been laying down and figured out it was more comfortable to bend his knees, and when he straightened them he yelled. I have been looking online for around 1hr now to see if I can figure out what s wrong with him, but have had no luck so far.

Hello
Thanks for the query
Pain in left side of abdomen associated with flexion deformity of hip and knee may be due to problem in joint or muscles attached to joint. You have not mentioned, is your child running fever or he had suffered any injury. Cause may be septic arthritis, psoas abscess, referred pain from inflammation of hip joint or any bone injury.
So I would suggest you to consult an orthopedician immediately for proper diagnosis.
I hope this answers your query effectively.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
