Child Having Pain While Urination, Pain In The Penis. Bladder Infection?

Hello,my son is 9, this morning it was very painful for him to urinate. He said it hurt inside and at the tip of his penis. He also had this happen last friday at school. It is even hard for him to stand up and walk right after the pain. I have an appt for him to see our dr this afternoon and suspect it to be a bladder infection - is there anything else it could be?

Hello dear,

The symptoms mentioned by you suggests that your child might be having:
1. Urinary tract infection.
2. Ureteric stones

Investigations like Urine examination, X ray KUB (Kidney, Ureter, Bladder) & Ultrasound scan of abdomen & pelvis will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.

So, kindly consult a Pediatrician and start the treatment.

One more thing...he should avoid acidic foods, carbonated drinks...& maintain good hygiene.
There is no need to worry...he will be fine.

Wishing him a speedy recovery.
Thanks & take care.
