Child Having Tantrums, Kicks Wall, Bruises, Cuts Herself, Hit Face With Fist. Extreme Case Of Terrible Twos?

pediatrician states my 3 yr old grandaughter has terrible twos/ she turned 3 in april and has tantrums so bad she kicks walls,doors etc. and will put bruises and cuts on herself from kicking,she also uses her fist to hit your face and kicks you if you get close. is this an extreme case of terrible twos or could something else be going on?

If the tantrums are uncontrollable then consultation of child psychiatrist may be required. Tantrums commonly occur in children but not to the extent that they will injure themselves.
