Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

The incidence of diarrhoea was because of probably the feeding technique you used i.e bottle feeds .It is known that bottle fed babies get infection because cleanliness issues.

At present since your baby is being weaned it would be best choice to give home prepared fresh baby food .Start with cereals then pulses, slowly add vegetable and lastly fruits .Cerelac is not bad but it is always best that the child gets used to traditional food habit rather then preserved monotonous baby food like cerelac.

Your doctor told you to avoid dal water because water has less calories .You should be giving proper mashed dal preparation or khichidi in liquid form which has more calories and fibre than simple water.

Regards
Take care.
