Hello and welcome to Healthcaremagic.
Thank you for writing to us.
In my opinion, a 5 year old child having constant stomach pains could have multiple causes to this. It could be a
urinary tract related problem, or a gastrointestinal problem.
First of all, please visit a doctor (
pediatrician) for a physical examination. Palpation will be able to find any tenderness, if present. The next thing we could do is an abdominal and pelvic scan. This investigation will help in visualizing her abdomen and pelvis. Investigation is prime, as she is only a child and might not successfully describe her symptoms.
A repeat urine analysis and urine culture should help, some times a laboratory error rules out a UTI early than it should be.
In the meantime, please give her plenty of water; cranberry juice should also help to a certain extent.
If you have a family history of
diabetes, checking her blood sugar levels will also contribute.
I hope I have succeeded in providing information that you were looking for. Please do write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be happy to help.
Best wishes.
