Pediatrician, Neonatology 's  Response
Hi
The CBC result shows severe neutropenia and high lymphocytes. this can go with severe infection, viral or otherwise. Being very small the child needs expert examination and treatment in view of 6 days fever.
Good luck

Pediatrician Dr. Y V Siva Sankara Murty's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Your three month old requires to be examined by a pediatrician.

With infants in that age group we should be more cautious. Please take your baby to the pediatrician.

Is your baby accepting feeds normally?
Is your baby vomiting?
Is your baby lethargic?

What is the temperature like?

Please reply in detail so that we can help you better.

Take care.

General & Family Physician Dr. Himaja Bai Kethavath's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM!
Thanks for posting your query here.
The RBC picture-normocytic and normochromic means- the size and shape and colour of the red blood cells is normal. The WBC levels are within the normal range except for the lymphocytes which shows an elevated level-93%. This indicates an acute viral infection. The smear for MP is for malarial parasite test. It is also negative. So the cause of fever in your son is of viral in origin. You need to take some other tests to confirm the viral infection. It could be upper respiratory or a rota virus infection. The viral origin can be correlated clinically.
Hope this is helpful to you.
Regards
