Child Suffering From Throat Pain, Dry Cough, Prescribed Levolin. Asthma?

Hi Doctor, My 6yrs old daughter is suffering from cold and cough for past 3 days and is on prescription of augmentin dds, piriton and ibugesic plus. Today on 3rd day she is complaining of thoat pain which was not there earlier. Though today she doesnt have fever qhich was persistent earlier. Doctor has today additionally prescribed levolin syrup. Just wanted to double check as levolin seems to be for ashma. Also her cough is dry. Thanks, Amit

Levolin is a drug which is used commonly in management of asthma , but it does not means that it can be used only in asthma. There are few conditions also in which it can be used. Actually it causes increase in size of smaller airways so if someone gets signs of spasm of airways then he can use it in that condition. What must have happened in your daughter's case.
